$1,000 a Week for Life Gagnant à vieA Montérégie Resident Wins the Grand Prize!

Montréal, November 24, 2020 – Montérégie resident Gilles St-Jean scratched his Gagnant à vie ticket the same night he bought it. He uncovered three balloon symbols. He thought he’d won a mere $5 with his balloons, but discovered he’d actually won the grand prize!

In summary

  • Lottery: Gagnant à vie
  • Prize won: $1,000 a week for life
  • Category: Grand prize
  • Claim date: November 17, 2020
  • Winner’s place of residence: Montérégie
  • Retailer: Dépanneur Mini Général (210 Boulevard Saint-Francis, Châteauguay)

The retailer will receive a $10,000 commission, equal to 1% of the prize.

  • Claim centre: Loto-Québec head office in Montréal

  • Gilles has been buying Lotto 6/49 and Lotto Max tickets regularly since both these lotteries were created.
  • Every now and then, he also buys a Gagnant à vie ticket. Sometimes his wife gives him one as a gift.
  • The couple had planned a trip to France this year but obviously had to postpone it due to the current situation.
  • So that’ll be for another time! Needless to say, when they do go, they’ll make it more luxurious than ever!
  • Gilles also plans to invest some of his winnings.

COVID-19: How to claim your prize

As part of the collective effort to stop the spread of COVID-19 and protect the health and safety of its customers and employees, Loto-Québec has reopened its prize claim offices in Montréal and Québec City by appointment only, and only for prize claims amounting to $10,000 or more. Right now, the safest and most efficient way to claim a prize amounting to less than $10,000 is by mail. Prizes amounting to $600 or less can be claimed at any Loto-Québec retailer.

Please note: Owners of physical lottery tickets with an expiry date between March 17 and September 17, 2020, inclusively who’ve won a prize will have an additional six months to claim it. The payment terms for prizes won on lotoquebec.com remain the same.
