After the May 27 draw, he woke up at 3 a.m. to discover that he was a newly minted millionaire. “I froze,” Daniel recalled, adding that he didn’t sleep a wink the rest of the night.

As soon as the sun started to come up, the lucky winner headed over to a retailer to check his ticket. Seeing that he’d well and truly won a whopping million dollars, Daniel wasted no time in going to his son’s place to share the good news.

The Lanaudière resident says he plans to put some of the money towards his retirement and buy himself a new car.
