Highlights

  • Paule went to a retailer to check her Célébration tickets and decided to do the same with her Québec 49 ticket.

  • Seeing an impressive $2,000,000 displayed on the self-serve screen, she didn’t quite believe that’s what she’d won and continued to check her other tickets.

  • “Before leaving the store, I checked the Québec 49 ticket again, and the same prize amount was displayed!” said the winner.

  • A man standing behind her said that he’d heard on the news that Loto-Québec was looking for a Québec 49 winner in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean area.

  • Back home, she asked her spouse to check the ticket with the Loto-Québec Lotteries app. When Gaetan saw $2,000,000 displayed on his cell, he confirmed that they were the winners Loto-Québec was looking for.

  • The couple organized a dinner with their children and waited for the perfect moment to announce the news. “At first, we pretended everything was normal, telling them that the jackpot had apparently been won in the area and asked them to check the ticket in case it was us. Seeing the look on their faces was pure gold!” said the excited couple.

  • The new millionaires plan to make investments, buy a new car and continue living life to the fullest.
