Highlights
-
Benoit was grocery shopping and decided to check his Lotto 6/49 ticket.
-
When he heard the winning chime, the Montrealer thought he’d won a free play, so he told the store clerk that he’d like to add Extra to the ticket.
-
“You won the $1 million Extra prize!” the young clerk excitedly replied.
-
Benoit called his wife, Linda, to tell her the good news.
-
Not quite believing their luck, the couple rechecked the ticket several times to be sure they’d really won.
-
All smiles, the lucky couple left Loto-Québec’s offices with their $1 million cheque. Thanks to the win, Linda will be able to retire and the couple will pay off their mortgage and buy a new car.
