Montréal, January 24, 2020 — Abitibi-Témiscamingue resident Jacob Trudel took home $1 million in the January 12 Célébration draw. The winner’s brother and sister came to celebrate with him during a festive evening at the Casino de Montréal on Sunday, January 19.

Highlights

  • Jacob’s parents had given each of their three children a Célébration ticket tucked in a Christmas stocking.

  • On the evening of the televised gala, Jacob sent a picture of his ticket stub to his parents so they could check it during the show.

  • While one of the winning viewer prize numbers seemed the same as on Jacob’s picture, they weren’t sure because the third digit on the ticket wasn’t completely scratched and they couldn’t tell whether it was indeed the 6 announced by the show host.

  • They tried to call Jacob, but couldn’t reach him. He ended up returning their call on FaceTime and they were able to give him the great news!

  • Jacob waited for his brother and sister to be available to come and pick up the cheque with him during a festive evening at the Casino de Montréal!
