$1,000,000Family from the Greater Montréal area celebrates Célébration win

Montréal, January 24, 2020 — Bruno Cartier, his sister Isaline Cartier and their mother Micheline Projean Cartier—who respectively reside in Montérégie, Montréal and Laval—took home one of five $1,000,000 prizes in the January 12, 2020, Célébration draw.

In summary

  • Lottery: Célébration
  • Prize: $1,000,000
  • Draw date: January 12, 2020
  • Winners’ place of residence: Laval, Montérégie and Montréal
  • Retailer: Provigo Le Marché (1402 Rue Roberval, Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville)
  • The retailer will receive a 1% commission of $10,000.
  • Claim centre: Loto-Québec head office in Montréal

Highlights

  • Bruno has continued the family tradition that his father, who passed away 15 years ago, started: buying Célébration lottery tickets for his mother, sister and himself every year.

  • He usually purchases the tickets just in time for their Christmas Eve dinner; this year, however, he wasn’t able to find the time and ended up buying the tickets on December 31, the anniversary date of his father’s passing.

  • While cooking himself dinner one evening, he remembered that he still hadn’t checked the tickets.

  • Shocked that the number on one of the tickets matched the family’s home phone number when he was young, Bruno was even more shocked when he found out that it was one of the $1,000,000 winning numbers!

  • He immediately made a three-way call to his mother and sister to tell them the good news!

  • All three winners say they’ve started to make plans on how they’ll spend the money.
