Highlights
-
Georges went to a retailer with the intention of buying two Lotto Max tickets. However, once he got there—and on the advice of the lottery kiosk employee—he ended up buying a Lotto Max and Lotto 6/49 ticket.
-
Georges was in for quite a shock when he validated his ticket at the grocery store. Although the lottery terminal emitted a winning sound, he didn’t see how much he’d won.
-
He did, however, see a Loto-Québec ad displaying the number 50 pop up on-screen.
-
When he caught the employee’s reaction, Georges realized he’d won big! Instinctively, his mind went back to the number 50, and he thought, “I’ve just won $50,000!” Only later did the Laval resident find out he’d actually won the $1,000,000 guaranteed prize.
-
The newly minted millionaire says he plans to invest in real estate with his winnings.
