Montréal, February 3, 2020 – Montréal resident Daniel David took home the $1 million grand prize in the December 18 Extra draw.

  • Believing that he’d won $1,000, he went to a retailer to confirm the win using the self-serve ticket checker.

  • Seeing all the zeros line up on the screen, he asked the clerk to validate the ticket.

  • It’s only when he received the validation coupon that he understood that he had become a millionaire thanks to the Extra grand prize.

  • “It didn’t sink in at first, but now I know it’s true!” said the winner as he received his cheque.

  • Just a few months shy of retirement, the new millionaire admitted that this infusion of cash will be very useful.
