$2,000,000Small number on 2 000 000 $ Suprême ticket hides huge win for Montérégie/Montréal couple

Montréal, February 18, 2020 — Not believing that that he was now $2,000,000 richer, Montérégie resident Alain Aumond was trembling with excitement when he knelt down beside the bathtub in which his spouse, Montréal resident Karine Hamel, was relaxing. It only took a few seconds for her to leap out of the tub once they realized they’d won the grand prize from a 2 000 000 $ Suprême scratch ticket.

Highlights

  • Alain couldn’t believe his luck when he burst into the bathroom where Karine was enjoying a relaxing soak in the tub.

  • “Do you see a 9 there? Please tell me that’s a 9!” he beseeched, showing Karine the ticket without offering up any further explanations.

  • Karine confirmed that he was indeed pointing to a 9 before asking him to remove his finger, which she saw was shaking and hiding the prize associated with the number.

  • “I’ve never gotten out of the tub so fast! I didn’t even dry myself off before getting dressed,” she confided.

  • The couple immediately phoned Loto-Québec before setting off to claim the $2,000,000 they’d just won minutes ago.

  • When they got to Loto-Québec’s head office, they validated their scratch ticket at a terminal. Alain let out a triumphant cry when the terminal emitted a winning sound that reverberated throughout the room.

  • The newly minted millionaires, who’ve been together for 22 years, say they’ll take some time to consider their options before making plans on what to do with the money.
