$1,000,000Extra: The Montreal winner thought it was a dream!

Montréal, April 12, 2019 — Montréal resident Neville Lewis is not in the habit of saying no to Extra. Lucky for him, this automatic reflex led to him to pocketing a cool $1 million following the Extra draw on March 30.

In summary

  • Lottery: Extra
  • Prize: $1,000,000
  • Category: Grand prize
  • Draw date: March 30, 2019
  • Winner’s place of residence: Montréal
  • Retailer: Dépanneur Galeries Kirkland (3634 Boulevard Saint-Charles, Kirkland)
  • The retailer will receive a $10,000 commission, equal to 1% of the prize.
  • Claim centre: Loto-Québec head office in Montréal

Highlights

  • Neville went to a retailer to check his ticket. When the guy behind the counter screamed out something in his native tongue that Neville couldn’t understand, his eyes went to the number on the customer screen.

  • He saw a 1 followed by six zeros, and it hit him that he’d won $1,000,000.

  • Neville could have sworn he was dreaming.

  • His wife wanted to wait before telling their three children, but when one of them popped in for a visit, Neville couldn’t hold in the good news any longer. They immediately called the others afterwards to fill them in.

  • For now, the new millionaire’s plans include a Caribbean cruise and enjoying life to the fullest.
