HIGHLIGHTS

Lotteries

  • All product categories are on the rise. Lotto Max recorded excellent sales (+45.3%) thanks to the many major jackpots offered. Sales also increased for instant lotteries due to more dynamic offerings (+21.3%).

Casinos

  • Overall, casinos reported good results with revenues up by 0.4%. The Casino de Montréal celebrated its 25th anniversary on October 9, and related festivities will continue throughout the coming year.

Gaming halls

  • Gaming halls continue to grow, while the withdrawal of video lottery terminals resulted in a decrease in revenues for the bar and brasserie network. Pilot project preparations for launching our new electronic bingo offering called bingo+ are now complete. Bingo+ has been available in the first hall since early October. Remember that bingo is an important source of financing for many non-profit organizations.

  • The popularity of the lotoquebec.com online gaming site remains strong, reflected by the 32.6% increase in revenues.

Note: Due to new accounting methods, prizes paid out are now deducted from lottery, bingo and Kinzo revenues, as was already the case for casinos and video lotteries (more details are available on page 6 of the quarterly report). Figures for 2017-2018 were therefore adjusted. Gross profit and net income were not affected.

The quarterly report is available on Loto-Québec’s website.
