Montréal, March 26, 2018 – Ms. Charlie Lagarde was in for quite the surprise at her 18th birthday. She pocketed the grand prize of $1,000 a week for life at Gagnant à vie!

The winner’s reactions

  • On her 18th birthday, Ms. Lagarde decided to celebrate by buying a bottle of sparkling wine at the SAQ and a lottery ticket at the convenience store.
  • She scratched the ticket when she got home and realized she had won the grand prize in the first game!
  • The lucky winner quickly to her family the good news. Everyone was euphoric at this stroke of luck.
  • The winner chose to take a couple weeks to decide between the lifetime annuity or the lump sum. She ended up taking the lifetime annuity.
  • She plans to do a lot of travelling, one of her passions.



  • “I want to study photography. One of my dreams would be to work for National Geographic,” said the winner.
