$1,000,000Extra: A lucky start to the New Year for a Centre‑du‑Québec resident!

Montréal, January 24, 2018 – Sylvie Sergerie, who lives in Centre-du-Québec, became a millionaire at the start of 2018. She took home $1 million in the January 17 Extra draw.

In short

  • Lottery: Extra
  • Prize won: $1,000,000
  • Category: Jackpot
  • Draw date: January 17, 2018
  • Winner’s place of residence: Centre-du-Québec
  • Retailer: Lottery kiosk at Les Promenades Drummondville (755 Boulevard René-Lévesque, Drummondville)
  • The retailer will receive a $10,000 prize, equal to 1% of the win.
  • Claim centre: Québec City office

Highlights

  • Ms. Sergerie checked her ticket with her cell phone. The message indicated: “You have won $1 million, results to be provided!” Puzzled, she stood still, staring at her phone. She then decided to check her ticket manually.

  • “This is crazy! I think I won $1 million!” she said to her spouse.

Realizing that she had indeed won, she suddenly felt shivers up and down her spine: “It’s like a dream! You tell yourself that it only happens to others, and when it happens to you, it’s just unbelievable!” said Ms. Sergerie.

  • Ms. Sergerie’s spouse has been retired for two years. Thanks to her good luck, she is now planning to retire next March… and maybe buy a motorcycle. For the time being, though, the couple is looking forward to settling into a financially secure retirement before making any major decisions.
