Electronic bingo pilot project: five halls selected

Québec City, September 21, 2017 – A new milestone has been reached in the electronic bingo pilot project. Following a call for proposals, the Société des établissements de jeux du Québec (SEJQ), a subsidiary of Loto-Québec, has selected five bingo halls to take part in the pilot project, while still offering traditional bingo with paper cards.

The selected halls are:

  • Place Desaulniers in Longueuil

  • Bingo Saint‑Vincent‑de‑Paul in Laval

  • Les entreprises Jolodium Inc. in Notre‑Dame‑des‑Prairies

  • Aréna Repentigny

  • Bingo des Chutes in Québec City.

The first hall is set to open at the beginning of 2018, and the pilot project will span one year. The SEJQ will be responsible for operating the gaming system and ensuring its integrity, and turning over the sums to the affiliated non‑profit organizations (NPOs).

Bingo is a major source of financing for close to 500 NPOs. The deployment of the electronic bingo pilot project aims to attract new clients to revitalize the bingo industry.
