Méga $$$$A Montérégie resident wins $1,500,000!

Montréal, February 3, 2017 – Lady Luck smiled on Montérégie resident Steve Richer-Paquette as he scratched his Méga $$$$ ticket: He won the $1,500,000 grand prize!

Summary
• Lottery: Méga $$$$
• Prize won: $1,500,000
• Category: Grand prize
• Claim date: January 30, 2017
• Winner’s place of residence: Montérégie
• Retailer: Bonisoir (290 Boulevard Saint-Luc, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu)
• The retailer will receive a 1% prize of $15,000.
• Claim centre: Loto-Québec head office, Montréal

Winner’s reactions
• On a whim, Mr. Richer-Paquette asked for a Méga $$$$ ticket as he paid for his gas fill-up. When the cashier reached for a ticket that was lower in the stack, he asked if he could have the one on top instead.
• He then went to his truck to scratch the ticket.
• Astonished with the result, he immediately called his spouse to ask her to guess the amount he’d won. When she heard how much it was, she said he should immediately get the ticket validated.
• The game terminal confirmed the Montérégie resident’s stroke of luck.
• He will be able to get a new car sooner than expected and is considering the purchase of a new house.

Quote
• “Steve and his spouse are very reasonable young adults. Appreciative of such a big nudge in the right direction, they agree they need to consider all their options so as make sound financial management decisions,” said Isabelle Lévesque, Consumer Services, Loto-Québec.
