Extra$1,000,000: A new millionaire in Abitibi-Témiscamingue

Montréal, June 17, 2016 – Abitibi-Témiscamingue resident Georges Lamothe pocketed the $1,000,000 grand prize at the Extra draw of June 3.

• The retailer will receive a 1% prize of $10,000.

Reactions
• After a long day at work, Mr. Lamothe decided to stop in to have a retailer check two lottery tickets.
• The second ticket caused quite a commotion when “the machine began to make all kinds of sounds.”
• The clerk who validated the ticket was shaking more than Mr. Lamothe when he handed him back the winning ticket.
• Another customer in the store remarked that the lucky winner appear very calm despite the big news. Mr. Lamothe declared that “all the excitement was pent up inside.”
• When he got home, he announced the good news to his mother, who was in such a state of shock and disbelief that she called the store and spoke to the clerk for a half an hour before she finally was convinced it was indeed true!
• The lucky winner plans on making improvements on his house to adapt it to the needs of his mother.

Claiming lottery prizes in gaming establishments
Lottery prizes may now be claimed at the gaming halls in Trois-Rivières and Québec City as well as at Loto-Québec’s offices in Montréal and Québec City.
