Montréal, November 5, 2026 — Montérégie resident Julie Chouinard took home $25,000 a year for life with Grande Vie. And she owes this windfall to a simple reminder.

A precious reminder

Julie Chouinard usually purchases a Grande Vie ticket for every draw. On one of her recent visits to the convenience store, however, she’d have forgotten to buy her traditional ticket had the attendant not said, “Don’t forget your Grande Vie ticket!” As it turns out, that ticket, valid for the October 22 draw, earned her a lifetime annuity!

A memorable day at work

Chouinard found out about her win when she checked the Loto-Québec app, just five minutes before starting to work. Excited, she called her spouse to break the big news. He told us, “I had to mute the sound in the middle of a meeting to take her call. She asked me if I was sitting down, then she told me she’d won!” Despite the emotion she was feeling, Chouinard managed to finish her workday.

A year full of plans

This lottery win is the start of a “year full of plans” for the lucky winner. One of the dreams she’ll fulfil is a trip to the Dominican Republic. The grandmother of two added, “It’s going to be a beautiful Christmas!”

The winning ticket was purchased at the Tabagie Cousineau convenience store at 5797 Boulevard Cousineau in the Saint-Hubert borough of Longueuil.
