2,188,545 $Bad beat jackpot won at the Casino de Montréal
Montréal, November 3, 2025 — People gathered in Loto-Québec poker rooms had reason to celebrate on October 31, as the $2,188,545 bad beat progressive jackpot was won at the Casino de Montréal and shared among the corporation’s six gaming locations.
To win the bad beat jackpot at poker, a player must lose the game with four tens or a higher hand. That's precisely what happened on Halloween night at the Casino de Montréal. This inter-location progressive jackpot is awarded to the player with the second-highest ranking hand, as well as all other players at Loto-Québec poker rooms.
When losing means winning big
The holder of the bad beat hand, who had a straight in spades, won $875,418, while the winner, who had a higher-ranked straight in spades, received $437,709. The five other players at that table each won just over $87,000. Players in other Loto-Québec poker rooms also got a share of the progressive jackpot!
