Cassie Gregoire: “A wave of relief for life”

  • Cassie Gregoire only buys Gagnant à vie scratch tickets. She told us it’s her favourite lottery game and the only one she’s ever wanted to win. And now she has!
  • One Saturday evening, she scratched off two Gagnant à vie tickets online on lotoquebec.com.
  • At first, Gregoire couldn’t believe her luck when she saw the lifetime annuity pop up on her cell phone screen.
  • Once she checked her ticket online, and received the call from Loto-Québec confirming that her dream had indeed come true, she started crying tears of joy.
  • After some reflection, she decided to opt for the prize of $1,000 a week for life. “It feels like I’m winning a wave of relief for life,” the thirty-something mom told us.
  • Cassie says that, with her windfall, she plans to prioritize self-care. She says she also plans to take her family on a long-awaited trip to Disney.

Guerberson Fontaine: Going back to school

  • Guerberson Fontaine is also a big fan of Gagnant à vie.
  • During a visit to Carrefour Langelier with his girlfriend, he stopped by the Loto-Québec kiosk to pick up a limited-edition Gagnant à vie scratch ticket.
  • After scratching it off, he handed it over to the clerk to have it validated. The lottery terminal emitted an unusual sound, and the word “VIE” appeared on the consumer display screen. “I really won!” he exclaimed, though he could hardly believe it.
  • Fontaine says he has a lot of plans now that he’s won $1,000 a week for life, like going back to school to become a nurse practitioner and helping out his father financially so that the latter can work fewer hours.
