ExtraHe wins the grand prize two months before retiring!
Montréal, March 28, 2024 — Lanaudière resident Christian Vansterthem won the $1,000,000 top prize in the March 7 Extra draw. And what a timely win—he’s planning to retire in two months!

- Vansterthem asked the clerk at a retailer outlet to check his tickets while he ran some errands. She quickly called him back to show him the $1,000,000 prize displayed on the screen.
- He just couldn’t believe it! He even called a friend and asked him to check as well.
- Vansterthem plans to use his win to pay off his house and enjoy his imminent retirement even more!
The winning ticket was purchased at the Boni Soir convenience store at 1031 Avenue Gilles-Villeneuve in Berthierville.
Good things come in threes!
The Extra $1,000,000 top prize was won three times in three days: March 6, 7 and 8! On March 8, Laurentides resident Endre Balogh won the top prize with a ticket purchased online. And a group that held 10 shares of $100,000 took home the March 6 prize. One of these shares remains unclaimed. The winning Formule groupe ticket had been purchased at a Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles retailer.
