$1,000,000A Lotto Max ticket purchased online turns a Capitale-Nationale woman into a millionaire!

Montréal, October 1, 2020 — Capitale-Nationale resident Josée Poulin won a Maxmillions prize, i.e. $1,000,000, in the September 4 Lotto Max draw with a ticket she purchased at lotoquebec.com.

In summary

  • Lottery: Lotto Max (with a ticket purchased online)
  • Prize: $1,000,000
  • Category: Maxmillions
  • Draw date: September 4, 2020
  • Winner’s place of residence: Capitale-Nationale
  • Claim centre: Loto-Québec office in Québec City

  • It was in the early hours of the morning that Josée decided to check the tickets she purchased online at lotoquebec.com.
  • $1,000,000: That was the sum that popped up on-screen. The winner had just won a Maxmillions prize!
  • The newly minted millionaire left Loto-Québec’s offices with a big smile on her face, along with her cheque and her spouse.
  • Although the couple says they want to take some time to think about how they’ll spend the money, they’re not at a loss for ideas! Buying a fishing boat, reducing their work hours and doing some renovations on their home are already on their to-do list.

COVID-19: How to claim your prize

As part of the collective effort to stop the spread of COVID-19 and protect the health and safety of its customers and employees, Loto-Québec has reopened its prize claim offices in Montréal and Québec City by appointment only, and only for prize claims amounting to $10,000 or more. Right now, sending in your prize claim by mail is the safest and most efficient way to claim a prize amounting to less than $10,000. Prizes amounting to $600 or less can be claimed at any Loto-Québec retailer.

Please note: Owners of physical lottery tickets with an expiry date between March 17 and September 17, 2020, inclusively who’ve won a prize will have an additional six months to claim it. The payment terms for prizes won on lotoquebec.com remain the same.
