$5,000,000Six Outaouais families win the Lotto 6/49 jackpot with a group-play ticket!

Montréal, October 14, 2020 — A couple of residents from the Outaouais region each bought a Lotto 6/49 group-play ticket, as they usually do. The lucky winners, who are unknown to each other, got the shock of their lives when they won the $5,000,000 jackpot in the September 30 draw—which also happens to be the second one in a row to be won in Québec! The $8,435,999 jackpot from September 26 was also won with a group-play ticket.

The winners, who came to claim their share of the jackpot in accordance with public health guidelines, all left with big smiles on their faces, and big dreams for the future. Some of these plans include spoiling their loved ones, retiring early, buying or building a new house, and travelling once circumstances allow.

A second record jackpot of $70,000,000 won in Québec with Lotto Max

A reminder that the $70,000,000 jackpot in the October 9 Lotto Max draw was won in the province thanks to a ticket bought in Montréal. The holder of the winning ticket still hasn’t come forward. Loto-Québec is urging its customers to check their ticket. This is the second jackpot to be won in Québec: it was won in the February 25, 2020, draw by a family of eight from the Capitale-Nationale and Chaudière-Appalaches regions.

COVID-19: How to claim your prize

As part of the collective effort to stop the spread of COVID-19 and protect the health and safety of its customers and employees, Loto-Québec has reopened its prize claim offices in Montréal and Quebec City by appointment only, and only for prize claims amounting to $10,000 or more. Right now, the safest and most efficient way to claim a prize amounting to less than $10,000 is by mail. Prizes amounting to $600 or less can be claimed at any Loto-Québec retailer.

Please note: Owners of physical lottery tickets with an expiry date between March 17 and September 17, 2020, inclusively who’ve won a prize will have an additional six months to claim it. The payment terms for prizes won on lotoquebec.com remain the same.
