Highlights

  • The winners are six friends, five of whom are former co-workers. They’ve been playing the lottery together for a few years now. They typically get together every week for breakfast.

  • The group leader, Marcel Plante, was the first to check their ticket the day after the Lotto 6/49 draw. He looked up the draw results on lotoquebec.com.

  • Marcel couldn’t believe that the numbers on his ticket matched the winning selection—and neither could his wife Lisette, who’s also a member of their lottery group. Excited and incredulous, they asked their daughter to check the ticket again.

  • Marcel then had the pleasure of calling up all the group members and telling them they’d snagged the $9,000,000 jackpot!

  • The six newly minted millionaires plan on celebrating their win with a cruise.
