  • Régis Gérard’s friends were visiting from France and wanted to go sightseeing in the Eastern Townships, and that’s what they did.

  • After their visit and dinner at the restaurant on Friday the 13th… a full moon night, Régis Gérard decided to buy two Québec Max tickets before driving back.

  • While grocery shopping, the Charlevoix resident had his tickets validated. “It was unbelievable. The cashier was shaking,” said the winner. He had no idea how much he’d won and started to get curious.

  • “Ah! A nice $1,000!” said Régis after quickly glancing at the amount displayed. Excited, the cashier suggested he look a little more closely at the validation coupon, because the number of zeros there meant he was a millionaire.

  • The lucky winner immediately shared the news with his friends, who were leaving for the airport to return to France.

  • Régis Gérard has many projects in mind, including renovating his house, getting a new car and taking a cruise. One thing’s sure, he expects his newly-taken retirement to be comfortable!
