$1,000,000A Capitale‑Nationale resident is now a millionaire thanks to a Lotto 6/49 free play

Montréal, September 11, 2019 – Capitale-Nationale resident Yves Couture took home the $1 million guaranteed prize thanks to a free play in the September 4 Lotto 6/49 draw.

In summary

  • Lottery: Lotto 6/49
  • Prize: $1,000,000
  • Category: Guaranteed prize
  • Draw date: September 4, 2019
  • Winner’s place of residence: Capitale-Nationale
  • Retailer: Couche-Tard (1661 Route de l’Aéroport, L’Ancienne-Lorette)
  • The retailer will receive a $10,000 commission, equal to 1% of the prize.
  • Claim centre: Loto-Québec office in Québec City

  • Yves never rushes out to validate his tickets. As they were piling up, he took them to a retailer for checking and, having won a free play, he bought another ticket.

  • It turned out to be a Lotto 6/49 guaranteed prize winner worth a $1 million. He couldn’t believe his eyes!

  • Unable to reach his spouse because she had turned off her cell phone, he called his sister-in-law, who was with her at the time, to ask her to return his call. Fearing it was an emergency, his spouse called right back.

  • “He won a million dollars!” she yelled while still on the line.

  • Yves plans to invest the money and renovate their home.
