$1,000,000A mother and daughter from Canada’s Capital Region split the one-time lump sum prize

Montréal, March 4, 2019 – Jocelyne Boily and her daughter, Sabryna Bolduc-Boily, who both live in Canada’s Capital Region, won $1,000 a week for life through playing the Gagnant à vie scratch ticket. They’ve chosen to forgo the annuity and split the one-time lump sum prize of $1,000,000.

  • Jocelyne purchased a Gagnant à vie scratch ticket, then brought it home.
  • When daughter Sabryna scratched the ticket, she saw that the word “VIE” appeared three times. She asked her mother: “How many ‘VIE’s do you need to win?” To which Jocelyne replied: “Three,” before coming closer to look at the ticket.
  • When it hit them that they’d won the grand prize, they started jumping up and down uncontrollably: “We went to Loto-Québec straight away! We couldn’t stand still, we were just so happy,” Jocelyne told us when they came to claim their prize.
  • The mother and daughter plan to by an intergenerational home, and Jocelyne plans to retire!
