$100,634A whopper of a surprise!
Montréal, June 4, 2019 – On May 10, Mauricie resident Claude Cloutier pocketed $100,634 while playing Pharaoh’s Treasure on Loto-Québec’s online gaming website, lotoquebec.com.
In short
- Lottery: Pharaoh’s Treasure
- Prize won: $100,634
- Date of win: May 10, 2019
- Winner’s place of residence: Mauricie
Highlights
-
“It’s unbelievable that a small bet like 40¢ can win you so much money!” These were the first words uttered by Claude Cloutier when he received his cheque at Loto-Québec’s office in Québec City.
-
When— while playing Pharaoh’s Treasure—Claude realized that he’d won the $100,634 progressive jackpot, he couldn’t believe his eyes. He actually paced back and forth between the kitchen and his computer several times, because he didn’t want to touch anything for fear of it disappearing.
-
It was when he got the call from the lotoquebec.com team that it really sunk in how much money he’d won. The first thing he did was call his girlfriend and tell her to sit down because he had some news. Her reaction, in words: “You’re joking me, I just know it!”
-
Claude plans to pay off his mortgage and debts with the money. Once that’s done, he says he’ll look into buying a new car and take his girlfriend on a trip.
