$520,055MegaJackpotsTM CleopatraTM: half a million dollars to spend!

Montréal, June 7, 2019 – On May 21, Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine resident Denise Deroy pocketed $520,055 while playing MegaJackpotsTM CleopatraTM on Loto-Québec’s online gaming website, lotoquebec.com.

In short

  • Lottery: MegaJackpotsTM CleopatraTM
  • Prize won: $520,055
  • Date of win: May 21, 2019
  • Winner’s place of residence: Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine
  • Claim date and location: May 31, 2019, at the Casino de Charlevoix in La Malbaie

Highlights

  • On Tuesday, May 21, Denise Deroy sat down to play the MegaJackpotsTM CleopatraTM slot game.

  • Distracted by the TV, she didn’t notice that the five symbols she’d landed had just won her the $520,055 progressive jackpot. So she kept on playing, thinking that someone else had won it.

  • That’s when a member of lotoquebec.com called her to tell her that… that someone was her! “Are you serious? I’m trembling inside.” Her spouse didn’t even believe her! “I’ll believe it when I see the cheque!”

  • Denise says the money will probably be used to renovate their secondary residence, which is a century home, and redo the patio at their primary residence. The couple, who live in Gaspésie, also want to treat themselves to a night out at the Casino de Charlevoix, which is something they’ve always loved doing!
