$1,000,000Montérégie man wins guaranteed $1M prize

Montréal, July 25, 2019 — Montérégie resident Pierre Brunette got the surprise of his life when he went to check his Lotto 6/49 ticket and the terminal made an unusual sound, letting him know that he’d won $1,000,000 in the July 13 draw.

Highlights

  • Pierre typically goes to the same retailer every Friday to check his lottery tickets. However, this last Friday was unlike any other. For the first time since he started buying lottery tickets, he heard that special sound indicating that his ticket was a winner—and that the prize was a big one.

  • The convenience store owner very quickly confirmed that Pierre had just won $1,000,000. The winner looked at the terminal screen five or six times to make sure he wasn’t dreaming.

  • When he came to claim his prize, it was an emotional moment for Pierre, who can now look forward to a comfortable retirement. Until then, he says he plans to take his spouse on a trip to celebrate this wonderful turn of events!
