$1,000,000A Montérégie man plans to share the grand prize he won through Extra with his three kids

Montréal, March 1, 2019 – Montérégie resident Michael Parsons always says yes to Extra when he plays Banco. A good move, especially since that “extra” dollar won him $1,000,000 in the February 24 draw! He’s chosen to share the prize with his three children, Michael Jay, Steven and Victoria Parsons.

In summary

  • Lottery: Extra
  • Prize: $1,000,000
  • Category: 7 numbers
  • Draw date: February 24, 2019
  • Winner’s place of residence: Montérégie
  • Retailer: Dépanneur Mini Général (210 Boulevard Saint-Francis, Châteauguay)
  • Claim centre: Loto-Québec head office in Montréal

Highlights

  • Michael was drinking his early morning coffee the day after the draw when he found out he won $1 million.

  • It was quite the wakeup call for his three children, whom he called one by one to tell them he’d won and wanted to share the prize with them!

  • Initially, they all thought he was joking. He even had to send his daughter a photo of the ticket so she’d believe him.

  • Michael brought his children with him to Loto-Québec’s head office the following Monday. His spouse, who was still in shock, stayed home.

  • Michael plans to buy a Harley Davidson motorcycle with his winnings. As for his three children, they say they still need time to think about what they’ll do with their share!
