$1,000,000Abitibi-Témiscamingue: A young twenty year-old became a millionaire thanks to Lotto 6/49

Montréal, August 8, 2019 – Vincent Chamberland-Cliche, a young Abitibi-Témiscamingue resident, was thrilled to win the $1,000,000 jackpot in the August 3 Lotto 6/49 draw.

In summary

  • Lottery: Lotto 6/49
  • Prize: $1,000,000
  • Category: Guaranteed prize
  • Draw date: August 3, 2019
  • Winner’s place of residence: Abitibi-Témiscamingue
  • Retailer: Petro Canada (380 Boulevard Québec, Rouyn-Noranda)
  • The retailer will receive a $10,000 commission, equal to 1% of the prize.
  • Claim centre: Loto-Québec head office in Montréal

Highlights

  • Vincent buys a lottery ticket once a week. He used to alternate between Lotto Max and Lotto 6/49, but he’s been getting Lotto 6/49 tickets more often lately.

  • Setting off to work at sunrise, he stopped to fill his gas tank and bought a lottery ticket at the same time.

  • When he checked the results on Loto-Québec’s website on Sunday morning, he thought he hadn’t won anything, as his numbers didn’t match the winning combination. In fact, he had won the guaranteed prize. He called his mom, saying: “Mom, I think I won $1,000,000!”

  • The young winner plans to make investments and take some time to consider his options. However, he’ll continue working because he loves his job!
