$25,000 a year for lifeGrande Vie has made a Laval resident richer

Montréal, May 18, 2018 – Mr. Majed El-Hage, from Laval, won a $25,000 a year for life prize in the May 10 Grande Vie draw. The winner chose the $500,000 lump sum instead.

In short

  • Lottery: Grande Vie
  • Prize won: $25,000 a year for life (or a lump sum of $500,000)
  • Category: 5/5
  • Draw date: May 10, 2018
  • Winner’s place of residence: Laval
  • Retailer: Couche-Tard (4600 Autoroute Laval East, Laval)
  • Claim centre: Loto-Québec head office in Montréal

Highlights

  • Mr. El-Hage went to a retailer to buy a Gagnant à vie! lottery ticket, but since there weren’t any left in the display case, the clerk suggested he take a Grande Vie ticket instead.

  • Convinced he hadn’t won anything because he had not won the $1,000 a day for life grand prize, he decided to get his ticket validated anyway, just in case. That’s when he found out he had won a big bonus prize!

  • He will make a donation to the hospital where his children were born as well as to their school. He plans to invest the remainder in his house and take a vacation.

Lottery prize payments in gaming halls and casinos

Lottery winners may claim their prizes at the Trois-Rivières and Québec City gaming halls, Loto-Québec’s Montréal and Québec City offices, or at the Casino de Montréal, Casino du Lac-Leamy, Casino de Charlevoix or Casino de Mont-Tremblant.
