When a Loto-Québec customer service representative contacted Mr. Vaillancourt to confirm his $1 million win online, he had just viewed the results on the Lotteries mobile application.
- “OK! So it wasn’t a mistake after all!” he answered after hearing that he had actually won that nice amount.
The winner has been buying his tickets online for some time: “It’s easy, and I’m sure that I don’t forget to place my bets.”

Mr. Vaillancourt plans to continue working in the construction business, as he loves what he’s doing. When he came in to claim his prize, he was off work due to the bad weather: “My day off really paid off!” he joked when he received his cheque.
