Montréal, July 19, 2018 – Louise Chevalier, who lives in the Laurentians, won a Maxmillions worth $1 million in the May 25 Lotto Max draw.

In short

  • Lottery: Lotto Max
  • Prize won: $1,000,000
  • Category: Maxmillions

  • The retailer will receive a 1% prize of $10,000
  •  Claim centre: Loto-Québec head office in Montréal

Highlights

  • The announcement of the many Maxmillions up for grabs in the Lotto Max draw encouraged Ms. Chevalier to buy a ticket for this lottery.
  • She usually participates in a Formule groupe ticket with co-workers, but she always buys her own ticket as well.
  • And it’s thanks to that solo ticket that she became a millionaire!
  • Never in a hurry to do so, Ms. Chevalier decided it was time to check all the tickets she had accumulated.
  • The clerk who scanned the tickets in the terminal said: “Madam, don’t scream... but I think you won big.”
  • The lucky lady was stunned when she saw all the zeros on the validation coupon.
  • Too excited to return home, she went to see her friend to announce the good news.
  • Ms. Chevalier didn’t sleep the night after discovering her good fortune, and had to wait a whole weekend before she could go to Loto-Québec’s head office to claim her prize.
  • With the million-dollar win she discovered almost two months after the draw, Ms. Chevalier will first buy a house with a big back yard for her dog.
  • She will also give some money to her children and take them on a trip each their turn to the destination of their choice.
  • She also plans to retire early and make some investments.

Quote

  • “I’ve always visualized myself coming here!” said the happy winner when she came to Loto-Québec’s offices.
