Montréal, January 24, 2018 – Jean Mercier, a resident of the Laurentides region, won a $1,000 a week for life annuity with his Gagnant à vie! scratch ticket. The lucky winner chose the $1,000,000 lump sum instead.

Mr. Mercier was thrilled to pick up his cheque the day after his 70th birthday: “Now, that’s sweet!” he exclaimed.

His son-in-law had given him the Gagnant à vie! ticket during his birthday dinner celebration.

The winner will first invest in a lake-side cottage so his children and grandchildren will have a place to get together. “We’ll have a place to celebrate Christmas together.”

A hunting and fishing enthusiast, he will also use his prize to go yellow walleye fishing with his old friend in the Hautes-Laurentides.
