Montréal, November 1, 2017 – A Laurentides family experienced the thrill of winning big at the lottery. Lyne Laframboise and Serge Carrière as well as their two daughters Geneviève and Isabelle Carrière took home the Guaranteed Prize of $1,000,000 at the October 25 dsraw of Lotto 6/49.

  • Mr. Carrière has been purchasing lottery tickets for 18 years.
  • He was comfortably seated in his truck when he checked his tickets after obtaining the results from his retailer.
  • Seeing he had the winning ticket, he immediately went back to the retailer to confirm his good luck.
  • When he told his spouse, she didn’t believe him until she heard the excitement of store clerk.
  • Together they cried tears of joys when the announced the good news to their two daughters.
  • Mr. Carrière went in to work as if nothing had happened, while Ms. Laframboise stayed at home to take it all in.
  • The parents intend on paying their bills, making home renovations, taking a nice trip and making investments.
  • For the two daughters, they are putting money aside for home down payments and their studies.



  • “I began to shake!” Mr. Carrière confided.
  • “Tell me it’s not true! Um, no, tell me it’s true!” he said as his ticket was being validated.
