Québec Max A new millionaire in Côte-Nord
Montréal, April 27, 2017 – Just months before his retirement, Côte-Nord resident Jacques Michaud took home $1,000,000 at the Québec Max draw of April 14. He will be sharing his winnings with his spouse, Danielle Parent.
Summary
- Lottery: Québec Max
- Prize won: $1,000,000
- Category: 7/7
- Draw date: April 14, 2017
- Winners’ place of residence: Côte-Nord
- Retailer: Galeries Montagnaises lottery kiosk (1005 Boulevard Laure, Sept-Îles)
- The retailer will receive a 1% prize of $10,000.
- Claim centre: Loto-Québec’s Québec City office
Highlights
- Mr. Michaud verified his ticket using the self-serve ticket checker: “I froze when I saw all the numbers: $10,000, $100,000, $1,000,000... I didn’t know how much I won, I couldn’t see the numbers, I was in a state of shock!”
- He then had his ticket validated by the cashier who confirmed that he had indeed won a million dollars.
- His spouse, Danielle Parent, was sure there had been a mistake: “This doesn’t seem possible.”
- After he realized he had actually won, Mr. Michaud went to work and told his boss that it would be his last day at work as he was taking an early retirement.
- The couple have plenty of dreams that they will be able to realize sooner rather than later: “We’ve been dreaming to take a luxury cruise in the Baltics, so we will start planning it in short order!”
