Gagnant à vie! Lifetime annuity for a Montréal resident

Gagnant à vie! Lifetime annuity for a Montréal resident

Montréal, April 21, 2017 – Montréal resident Shawn Bloom doesn’t normally play the lottery, but there is no denying he is a lucky man! He took a one-off chance and bought a Gagnant à vie! ticket, and took home a lifetime annuity of $1,000 a week for life!

Summary

  • Lottery: Gagnant à vie!
  • Prize won: $1,000 a week for life
  • Draw date: April 12, 2017
  • Winners’ place of residence: Montréal
  • Retailer: Tabagie Dallas JX (11648 Boulevard de Salaberry, Dollard-des-Ormeaux)
  • The retailer will receive a prize of $6,750, the equivalent of 1% of the lump sum.
  • Claim centre: Loto-Québec’s head office in Montréal

Winner’s reactions

  • Before walking away with the grand prize, Mr. Bloom mentioned to his wife how great it would be to win big at the lottery.
  • “But to win, you have to play,” he said. His spouse said he would be wasting his time.
  • A few days later as he was leaving the supermarket with dinner, he stopped by the scratch ticket display and randomly chose a ticket that he scratched at work.
  • His spouse admitted that winning the lottery was indeed possible, when the couple entered the the winners lounge at Loto-Québec!
  • The man in his thirties chose the lifetime annuity of $1,000 a week as opposed to the $675,000 lump sum.

Quote

  • “And to think that the day started off with plumbing issues at home!” quipped Mr. Bloom with a laugh.
