Lotto 6/49A Montréal resident wins a million dollars!

Montréal, May 29, 2017 – For nearly 30 years, Montréal resident Gabriele Ernesto Mandolese has been playing the same combination at Lotto 6/49. When he won the $1,000,000 Guaranteed Prize at the April 15 draw, he was struck at first, but then quickly regained his cool.

Summary

  • Lottery: Lotto 6/49
  • Prize won: $1,000,000
  • Category: Guaranteed Prize
  • Draw date: April 15, 2017
  • Winner’s place of residence: Montréal
  • Retailer: Galeries d’Anjou lottery kiosk (8001 Boulevard des Galeries d’Anjou, Montréal)
  • The retailer will receive a 1% prize of $10,000.
  • Claim centre: Loto-Québec’s head office in Montréal

Highlights

  • Mr. Mandolese waits for all the draws he has wagered on to be completed before checking his ticket. He then replays the same combination, something he has been doing for three decades.
  • When the retailer saw the million-dollar amount appear on her terminal, she discreetly told her customer that he needed to go to Loto-Québec to claim his prize.
  • Surprised, the winner asked her if he had won a large prize. When he learned he was a millionaire, he was struck at first, but then continued on with his shopping.
  • Mr. Mandolese intends on paying off a few debts, making some investments and pampering himself a bit with his winnings.
