Célébration 2017$5,000,000 - Someone in Montréal is now a multimillionaire!

Montréal, January 16, 2017 – During the Célébration 2017 gala held on Sunday, January 15, several big prizes were drawn, including one $5 million jackpot. Mario Gaudreau of Montréal was the lucky winner!

Summary
• Lottery: Célébration 2017
• Prize won: $5,000,000
• Category: grand prize
• Draw date: January 15, 2017
• Winner’s place of residence: Montréal
• Retailer: Super C (3850 Boulevard Dagenais Ouest, Laval)
• The retailer will receive $50,000 commission, equal to 1% of the prize.

Highlights
• It had been ten years since Mr. Gaudreau had bought a Célébration ticket.
• He found out he had the winning members while watching the Célébration show at home.
• He had only written down the first three numbers of the winning combination. He asked his neighbour for the missing numbers.
• Our winner was calm when he learned the good news, but he admits that sleep did not come easy afterwards.
• He checked his ticket at a convenience store, but was eager to go to Loto-Québec to make absolutely certain that he had the winning ticket. “It’s a lot more real now!”
• Once the dust settles, Mr. Gaudreau plans to prepare for an earlier retirement and to make a few investments.

Quote
• “It’s lucky I didn’t give the winning ticket away!” said the new multimillionaire, who did give a few tickets to some relatives.

A wave of winners in Québec
• Quebecers playing the lottery are especially lucky these days. Three Lotto 6/49 jackpots were recently won in the province: One of $5 million in Montérégie, one of $4.9 million in Montréal and one of $12.4 million in the Outaouais.
• The December 26 draw of the Grande Vie lottery made a Montreal resident the very first person to win the jackpot in Québec. She opted for the lump sum of $7,000,000.
• Furthermore, a group of 20 winners and shared won the January 6 Lotto Max jackpot.
