ExtraA Montréal and Montérégie family wins $1,000,000

Montréal, February 3, 2017 – A couple from Montréal, Giuseppa Lo Giudice Lanteri and Nunzio Lanteri, won $1 million in the January 20 Extra draw. They shared the prize with their children, Jane Lanteri, from the Montérégie region, and Salvatore Lanteri, from Montréal.

Summary
• Lottery: Extra
• Prize won: $1,000,000
• Category: Grand prize
• Draw date: January 20, 2017
• Winners’ place of residence: Montréal and Montérégie
• Retailer: Dépanneur Q (2525 Springland, Montréal)
• The retailer will receive a 1% prize of $10,000.
• Claim centre: Head office, Montréal

Highlights
• Ms. Lanteri purchases lottery tickets wherever she travels in Québec. Every Saturday, she listens to the radio to get draw results and notes them on a piece of paper.
• That’s how she saw that the Extra numbers on her ticket were identical to those she wrote down.
• Ms. Lanteri then said to her husband: “Look! Look! I think we won!”
• Mr. Lanteri took the time to dress before going to his retailer to check the ticket. When he saw $1,000,000 displayed on the machine, he started to sing, and then cry with joy.
• The lucky couple is planning to travel, purchase a car and invest for a nice retirement.
• Their children, who each received a cheque, will take some time to consider their options before making any definitive plans.
