Highlights
- Anne‑Marie Leblanc‑Cliche purchased a 100 $ ultime ticket after hearing a Loto‑Québec spokesperson talk about this lottery on the radio.
- She called her mother, Nicole Leblanc Cliche, who was eating out at a restaurant at the time, to see if she was interested in forming a group with her.
- Ms. Leblanc Cliche said yeas and asked the other people she was dining with if they wanted to join in.
- That’s how the original group of two became a group of six: parents, siblings and friends!
- Anne‑Marie learned that they won on April 1. She immediately informed the other members of the group, who all thought it was an April Fool’s joke!
- She waited till the next day to tell her friends to avoid that they too might think it was a joke.
- The winners plan on letting the dust settle before making any major plans, but putting money aside for investments was mentioned.
