• After several hours driving to see her mother who lives quite far away, Ms. Vallée decided to take a break and read the paper.
• She realized she had forgotten her glasses at home. When she arrived at her destination, she stopped by a store to buy a pair of inexpensive glasses. That’s when she happened upon the Loto-Québec counter and decided to purchase a Lotto 6/49 ticket, as she does occasionally.
• While out for a walk the day after the draw, she went to check her mother’s tickets and her own. To her great surprise, she learned that she won a million dollars!
• She thought at first that she had won $10,000 when she heard the terminal chime out.
• On her way back, she thought about how she would break the good news; she gathered her sisters at her mother’s house and announced to everyone at the same time that she was a millionaire.
• In a gesture of generosity, Ms. Vallée will share part of her winnings with her sisters.
