Reactions of Mr. Arseneau and Ms. Renaud
• Mr. Arseneau and Ms. Renaud are co-workers who have been buying lottery tickets together for eight years.
• They take turns buying and checking the tickets. This time, Mr. Arseneau had taken care of it.
• As soon as he realized they had won $1 million, he called Ms. Renaud, saying: “I’m coming right over. We’ve won the lottery!”
• Incredulous, Ms. Renaud replied: “Stop kidding around!”
• She was certainly pleased to learn that he was not joking.
• Each richer by $500,000, Ms. Renaud is still considering her options, while Mr. Arseneau plans to buy a home.

Mr. Cyr’s reactions
• For the past 30 years, Mr. Cyr has bought his Double Jeu 49 ticket along with his newspaper from the convenience store on Saturday morning.
• A few days after the draw, he checked the results on Loto-Québec’s website. He immediately noticed that he had the first digit, then the second, and so on until the very last. He had won $2 million!
• The lucky man calmly announced the news to his spouse, who started to scream: “We have to check that at the convenience store!”
• Still as calm, Mr. Cyr answered: “We’ll go tomorrow.” The lady got the last word, as they didn’t wait.
• That evening, they celebrated the good news with their relatives, who were promised an unforgettable Christmas!
