Loto-QuébecPossible Interruption of Postal Service

Loto‑Québec reminds lottery winners of means to claim prizes other than by mail

Montréal, June 30, 2016 – Due to the possible interruption of postal service, Loto‑Québec reminds lottery consumers that there are various ways other than the mail to claim their prizes. Depending on the amount of their winnings, they may collect their prize as usual from a retailer or at Loto‑Québec’s Montréal or Québec City offices. Claims may also be made in one of Loto‑Québec’s six gaming establishments: the Salon de jeux de Trois‑Rivières, the Salon de jeux de Québec, the Casino de Montréal, the Casino du Lac‑Leamy, the Casino de Charlevoix and the Casino de Mont‑Tremblant.

How and where to claim a prize

In person

• Prizes of $600 or less may be claimed from any Loto‑Québec retailer. Claims may also be made in person at one of Loto‑Québec’s offices or gaming establishments.

• Prizes worth between $600 and $25,000 may be made in person at one of Loto‑Québec's offices or gaming establishments in accordance with their opening hours.

• For prizes in excess of $25,000, an appointment must be made before going to one of Loto‑Québec's offices or gaming establishments. Appointments may be made by telephone at 1‑866‑611‑LOTO (5686), Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (except holidays).

By courier service

• Duly endorsed tickets, accompanied by a prize claim form, may be sent by courier service at the expense of the sender. It is important to keep a photocopy of the front and back of the winning ticket. Depending on the amount of the claim, Loto‑Québec will contact the winner to make an appointment or will send the payment cheque by courier.

Others ways to play and win at the lottery

• Thanks to Espacejeux.com, Loto‑Québec’s online gaming site, consumers may purchase lottery tickets on the Internet, play casino games or bet on events.

• When an online transaction results in a win of less than $25,000, the amount is deposited directly into the customer’s Espacejeux account.

• When the prize won exceeds $25,000, it must be claimed in person by the winner at one of Loto‑Québec’s offices. Customer service staff will contact winners directly to explain how to make the claims procedure.
