Montréal, June 7, 2016 – Centre-du-Québec resident Françoise Mailhot, from the town of Sainte‑Cécile‑de‑Lévrard, pocketed the $1,000,000 Guaranteed Prize at the June 1 draw of Lotto 6/49. She graciously accepted to share her experience during a press function this Tuesday at the Salon de jeux de Trois-Rivières.

• While at the store after a day at work, Ms. Mailhot had her ticket validated by the clerk.
• When she saw all the zeros on the display, she asked the clerk if she also saw the same thing on the terminal screen.
• The clerk asked the butcher to come check the ticket as well. He confirmed what they suspected; she had won a million dollars!
• Everyone was happy for the winner, who was in a state of shock!
• Ms. Mailhot went home to announce the big news to her spouse, but he didn’t believe her.
• She ran into more disbelief when she went to see her daughter, but her son-in-law was so stunned that he had to hold his head up with his hands!
• The lucky winner will be meeting with a financial advisor in order to make the best decisions possible.
• She will be buying her husband a new truck and trading in the family camper for a bigger one that can accommodate more people.
