Lotto Max$1,000,000 - A Montréal couple become millionaires

Montréal, August 23, 2016 – Lady Luck smiled upon Montréal resident Denis Morissette for a second time when he pocketed a Maxmillions prize at the August 12 Lotto Max draw. He shares his prizes with his spouse, Jacqueline Gendreau.

In brief
• Lottery: Lotto Max
• Prize won: $1,000,000
• Category: Maxmillions
• Draw date: August 12, 2016
• Winners’ place of residence: Montréal
• Retailer: Carrefour de la Pointe lottery kiosk (12675 Rue Sherbrooke Est, Montréal)
• The retailer will receive a 1% prize of $10,000.
• Claim centre: Loto-Québec head office, Montréal

Reactions
• Mr. Morissette and Ms. Gendreau have been to the Loto-Québec’s Millionaires Lounge before… They had the pleasure of collecting a cheque there for the sum of $76,563, a prize won at the Lotto 6/49 draw of October 26, 1991.
• This time around, the cheque was much bigger, as they won a $1,000,000 Maxmillions prize!
• When he saw they hadn’t won the $60 million jackpot, Mr. Morissette asked his wife to go to the convenience store to see if the ticket was a winner for another prize.
• After checking the ticket, the clerk congratulated Ms. Gendreau, shaking her hand.
• She immediately called her spouse to say: “Get over here, now!”
• When Mr. Morissette arrived, he was told the good news.
• The winners have several plans, including making investiments.

Quotes
• "Third time’s the charm," said Ms. Gendreau while at Loto-Québec’s offices.
• “I was so pleased to hand the two $500,000 cheques to such a lovely couple,” mentioned Isabelle Lévesque, of Loto-Québec’s customer service department.
